Open Door Law
The committee must meet in accordance with the provisions of Indiana's Open Door Law. IC 5-17-1.5. Public notice of the date, time, and place of the meeting must be given at least forty-eight (48) hours (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays) before the meeting. Public notice must be given by the awarding agency by: (1) posting a copy of the notice at the principal office of the public agency holding the meeting or, if no such office exists, at the building where the meeting is to be held; (2) and delivering notice to all news media which have requested such notices.
Date of the Meeting
Indiana Code 5-16-7-1(f) requires that the committee meet and make a determination at least two weeks prior to the date fixed for the letting of the contract.
Meeting Location
The committee has a statutory obligation to meet in the county where the project is located. IC 5-16-7-1(c). The awarding agency shall determine the time & place.
